CMR Technical Services was engaged by Energy Australia for Federation University’s study on slope stability in brown coal in Yallourn Victoria. 40 tests were performed to depths of over 129m in 3 separate boreholes. The Pressuremeter testing was done using a sonic rig to create a close tolerance pocket resulting in pseudo self boring pressuremeter tests. The testing was the first of its kind in brown coal in Australia.
Testing trailer – The Pressuremeter applies stress to the soil using compressed air. All data is collected electronically via a data acquisition system and a report is presented with plots and raw data.
